Raam Bank, Removal of Poverty and Raam Currency

Removal of poverty has always been the cherished desire of every well-wisher in the world. If all the people in our world could live in affluence, then it would certainly be a better place.

Throughout the ages, governments have tried to find ways to eradicate poverty and create affluence. Affluent nations decided to give loans to the poor countries, thus allowing them to strengthen their economies and become wealthy.

Although this is a laudable initiative, the burden of huge debts of the poor countries towards the wealthy ones has not made these countries stronger, but has in fact made them more dependent.

Furthermore, poverty has not been eliminated in the world by this initiative. Almost half of the world population still lives in poverty and almost a quarter has an income of less than one dollar a day.

A new idea needed to be born to solve the age-old problem of poverty in the world. A plan has been developed through the love of and desire for the well-being of every individual in the world by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

The plan is so simple, that when you read about it, you will probably say: "Why has nobody thought of this before?".

Vedic Organic Farming

Maharishi's plan to remove poverty from the whole world is to cultivate areas of fertile, unused land which are vast resources of wealth, already available in the poor countries.

These millions of acres of land are not polluted by chemicals. Vedic organic food will be grown and then sold to the wealthy nations, thus bringing in wealth from the sales.

This will help the poor nations and as a side-benefit the people in the wealthy nations will get healthy, naturally grown, Vedic organic food.

New Currency: The Raam

Recently a new currency has been introduced into the world: The Raam. The Raam is the global development currency of the Global Country of World Peace. The Raam is already circulating in The Netherlands and in Maharishi Vedic City, Iowa, USA.

The Raam has been issued and is a key element in Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's programmes to promote a balanced world economy, reduce poverty, and create world peace, according to Dr. Benjamin Feldman, Minister of Finance of the Global Country of World Peace.

With this currency, the Raam Bank will be able to initiate the development projects in poor countries, thus enabling them to raise their economy. At the same time the people in those countries will increasingly enjoy life in accord with Natural Law through the implementation of all Maharishi's programmes.

The newly established Raam Bank will cover the start-up costs of development projects, not as aid, but as a family participation. It holds high the Vedic concept "The world is my family".

Education and housing

At the same time that it supports Vedic organic food, the Raam Bank will also support non-profit organizations that develop the total brain of students through Consciousness-based Education; provide preventive health-care and health preparations without harmful side-effects through Maharishi Ayurveda; provide comfortable and healthy housing through Maharishi Sthapatya Veda; and prevention-oriented defence to create invincibility for the nation.

Poverty is a global problem

The world cannot really enjoy Heaven on Earth without the elimination of poverty. We cannot be really and completely happy as long as there is even one person in the world living in poverty.

Poverty is a global problem and therefore it influences everyone on the whole globe. This is especially true now, when the media carries the news of world poverty right into our living-rooms and spoils both our happiness and the happiness of our family.

The ancient knowledge of Natural Law, the Veda, tells us: "The world is my family". If we can be successful in removing poverty from the world, then the whole world family will naturally feel more united and everyone will feel "I am living in Heaven".
